What We Do
The Friends of the Dover Public Library is a non-profit organization supporting our library through fundraising, volunteering, and advocacy. We supplement the library’s budget to fund museum passes, a large portion of summer reading activities, events and programs, and other activities in the Dover, NH community. In short, we fund the fun stuff!
Our Goals:
- Create public support for our library
- Encourage all citizens to use the library and its services
- Sponsor programs that contribute to Dover’s educational and cultural life
- Encourage gifts, endowments, and memorials
The Friends host book sales in the Spring and Fall every year to help raise money to support the library. You can also find us out at community events like the Cochecho Arts Festival, Apple Harvest Day, and Dover Days at the Woodman Museum.
Our board meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month at the Library and all friends are welcome to join.
