Who We Are

The Friends of the Dover Library is a group of dedicated volunteers in Dover, New Hampshire who are about libraries and are interested in promoting and enhancing library resources in our community. We believe that having a first-rate library which serves the needs and interests of its community, makes any community a better place to live.

Our mission is to strive to empower individuals, enrich lives, and build a stronger, more connected Dover community through the promotion of our library.

Any member of the public can become a Friend by donating annually and supporting the group’s mission and purpose. Friends are encouraged to volunteer and assist in organizational events and fundraising, attend monthly meetings when able, and consider running for a position on the Board of Directors when positions are available.

The Friends’ Board of Directors is comprised of 4 officers, 5 voting members, 2 alternates, and the Director of the Dover Public Library who serves as a non-voting member.
